Where do i put the thermometer?

First time hatcher. Okay, I have read that on a regular (non digital) thermometer, it needs to be at egg height. I am planning to buy a digital thermometer. If I am using an egg turner in my incubator, where do I put the thermometer? Also, can I take out the egg racks that are not being used? I am guessing that if I do that, I need the eggs in the center and take out the outside racks? If I can take out the extra racks then there would be plenty of room for the thermometer. Help!

My non digital thermometer sat on the edge of the egg turner so it was at egg height.. Someone else might have a better solution though...
