Where do u buy your DE? How much does it cost?

I am getting PermaGuard Food Grade DE for $23 per 50# from a mill in North Branch, MN (Peterson's Country Mill). I am lucky enough to live close enough to be able to pick it up, because I don't think I'd ever want to pay for shipping it from Custom Milling or any other place again.

.

our price on DE has gone up, but not much. We are still paying UNDER $20 for 50# and in 6 months we have only used 50# That thats right around $40 a year! probably will be a little more then that in the winter when everything is wet, and we will have more chickens soon but it is still very affordable.

Hey Spatcher, do you need a license to sell it?

we have also had a hard time with fleas, My problems was every time i thought i had won they came back. I did not want to have the chemical sprays so We used benificial nematodes (you can get them from garden shops) and sprayed our yard. the benificial nematodes feed on the fleas and will reduce the population. used with orange oil to clean in the house and DE in the Cat and Dog bedding we have had alot of success.

Another trick for fleas is to take borax powder soap and sprinkle it along all the walls in your house. Sprinkle from the walls to the middle of the room. Let it sit for awhile. The fleas don't like the borax and jump to the middle of the room. Then vaccum them up (with borax in the vaccum bag or canister-along with a flea collar for dogs). The fleas will die inside the vaccum then.
I personally never tried this, but have been told by others that it works. Might be worth a try.

Run a muck-where are you in WI?? I am also from WI, 'bout an hour north of Wausau, but our local store doesn't carry it. Dang, that's a good price!!! If I was driving through, I'd stop and get a couple hundred pounds

That'd help my gas mileage!

The feed mill is actually outside Eau Galle/Durand.
I live up by Rice Lake area, but my mom gets me the DE when I need it because it's just a few miles from her house.

Forgot the name....
I think its called Baier's Feed Store...Not really sure But I know Baier's from the area own it....
It's on the corner of Hwy25 and Cty Rd D.
(Don't know the actual name of the road that runs in front of the feed store though)
Hope that helps....
When I talk to my mom I will ask her the name of the store and phone number. That might help a little better....
