Where do you find clothes for your little girls?

i sew a lot of my little girls dresses but if you cant sew, what you can do is maybe add some lace to the hem of a skirt or some bias tape? something to lengthen it. also, sewing is sooo easy! i taught myself using those preprinted patterns, the kind that is already on the fabric? best thing i ever did!

I'm a thrift store, yard sale, Clearance Rack fiend...

Last skirt I bought DD was at Macys and was $4.77 I think... I bought three and gave two out as B-day gifts.
It was pretty neat for DD to have her and her friend dressed alike.
But, that's a bonus, not a goal.

Of course we also have a few Second Hand shops... Kiddos Closet, Kid 2 Kid...
They're consignment shops... not donations like a thrift store... so they get some nicer things more often, but also charge more.

I've found BNWT stuff at thrift stores... just gotta keep an eye out.

They grow so darned fast that I just cannot comprehend spending $20+ on a single shirt... or a single pair of shorts... etc.

My sister, SIL, MIL... do NOT subscribe to this philosophy.. for them and theirs it's all brand new name brand...

I love my local resale shop with it's 50 cent Monday sale. I get name brand cloths for the family there. And if the stuff doesn't fit it is not a big loss. Sometimes I find cloths with tags still on them!

what size is she ? My daughter is tall and skinny she is in a 7 jean now. I found several brands that have built in elastic and buttons that make them adjustable. i have found some decent looking stuff at Kmart. they have bermuda shorts, instead of daisy dukes. I get alot of her tops at garage sales but usually the jeans are too worn.

I have to admit clothing style's have sure changed since my girl's were little. My youngest is 19.Most outfit's back then came with the legging's for the older one's.or panty covering's for the babie's.I have the grandson now he will be 2 in aug.and i haven't really noticed a lot about girl's stuff lately when picking stuff for him. It's pants tops or short's.Kid's can be stylish once they get old enough to pick their own clothe's.They seem to keep up with what's in style but the younger kid's that is up to parent's and well basicaly peroid. Ackkkkkkk Hope they don't get into the Goth/Emo/.Yea it will pass trust me but if your kid's are little you most likely got a while on that one.Been there done that lol.Purple and black hair the nails. It last about a year then...Back to jean's T Shirts and lounge pants.Your at option to dress your kid's now so... Unless they wanna get a job at 14 and Buy the crappy desinger clothes and crap.

She is a size 8 length wise. She can still wear size 4 skirts. She is slim enough she put on her brothers 2t khaki pants thinking they were her walking shorts. I wish whatever gene we gave her to stay that slim would have come from my side. ( sigh) I have bought a couple little things from old navy, I love the childrens place but its a bit out of my price range. My mother offered to teach me to sew but that would take far too much RUM. I did find a site that had some super simple patterns and sewing for dummy type instructions. Dang I hate getting all domesticated. I finished one cross stitch this life time. You would think thats domestic enough. I am determined though for her to have the cutsie stuff she likes that covers that gals rear. I would love to make her some cover up skirts for ballet too. I think in the morning I might pull out the box with the sewing machine.

at JoAnn fabrics they have material with the elastic bodice built in. I'm not sure of the correct term here. but all you have to do is make a tube and hem it. it is super easy and they come in different lengths. they even have some that makes a dress.
