Where do you get you chickens from?

I get my chickens from my own chicken's eggs.

Classic, I like it. Lol

Lol
We thought we'd start next year and changed our minds, so we didn't order with a big hatchery buy with a local co-op I'm part of. Well, it turns out someone we know did and ordered plenty extra to resell. We're getting some pullets from her soon. :)
And so the adventure begins. My four year old son is so excited! And of course so am I!! :)

A mixed bag for me, tried local breeder, worked for breeding drake for rouen duck we had, but chickens we not as successful (Ok they wanted to much per bird/chick) Decent luck with hatchery birds we have had. Did a few auctions, good guineas bad everything else. Even bought a small flock from an Amish family moving the year before last. A farm store owner gave us his wife's small flock same year. And hopefully we are getting some more layers being retired from a Amish egg farm soon. I get budgeted by the wife so most things are $$$ tight. And each year I hatch some of my own. Sometimes it works out sometimes it doesn't. We persist thru the ups and downs and keep the poultry flowing on own little piece of home. This year I am planning on hatching some meat birds I kept from last year. See how it goes. Only kept 3 pullets so may not work out. We have 60 more meats tomorrow (We hope) and wife insisted on getting SR so Maybe I'll try save back a roo or 2 to use this fall with some of my other hens. See if 1 way works better than the other.

Like I said a mixed bag for me. I do enjoy every little thing about all the birds I have had, except the bad birds (Sickly/dropping dead (Stew pot is different) or mean birds) and each has a memory or learning experience that came with them.
