Where exactly is the vent?

What a crazy question huh? I am wondering if it is directly below the tail? The reason I ask is because my little Bantam has a little bit of poo stuck to the butt. It looks to me like it is from his yolk sac drying up then when he goes potty is stuck to the part drying out. I just want to make sure he is not getting backed up.

They are like my children. I probably worry too much at times.

If it is on the cord? could this cause infections?

It is right under the tail, yes. If you cant see it, its probably covered by poo. Which means you need to do a Poo-ectomy.

Soak the poo with a wet towel, until it wipes off. Do this slowly, don't pick it off, or it may hurt the chick. Let it soak til loose then wipe it off. After it is all clean, a little olive oil on the vent will help it from recurring.

Thanks for your response chickenwing.
The vent it self if not covered in poo, but down below the vent there was a big pile of poo stuck. I took a warm paper towel and got the poo off. Should I put anything on it to clean it out or is Olive oil just fine?
