where in entral Texas to dispose of old hens

Due to health and age, time to hang it up. Must dispose of old stew hens first, maybe 300 of them. Any suggestions? Any petfood manufacturers in our areathat would payus something for them? Or do you all have any other suggestions? Thank you.

You might be able to sell them live off a truck in some farmers' markets. Put an ad on the chalk board at feed stores near you. You could probably get someone to drive a truck out and pick up a lot of them if the price is right.
In some places they have poultry swaps where you can sell poultry or trade them. Look up 'poultry swaps in central Texas.'

Have you tried a simple ad on Craigslist? I'm guessing you will unload quite a few in no time flat if the asking price is right, I know I would have no problem unloading them in my area for a buck or two a pop to the local ethnic populations with a Craigslist ad, and even though it's a low price that is almost certainly more then a pet food company will pay...

I don't know what PT papers and TAHC sales permits are, but there is a contact e-mail on the Bluebonnet Classic site in question, so you should e-mail that guy and ask him. I hope getting those things is not expensive or time-consuming.

I would suggest Craigslist, your local paper, if you have a shopper type paper, or posters up at your local farm supply store if you have such a place. You may not get rid of them all at once, but I know I'd pick some up for canning if I weren't in MN instead of TX.
