So, last night, I THOUGHT I had put all the birds away, but did not do a count. Apparently, ii forgot my little Polish/ Brown Leghorn pullet outside. She was nowhere in sight and I did not think of it. She was running around the outside of the coop this morning.

Now, as I am putting everyone away again, she is nowhhere to be found. We live in a watershed, withh lots of tress and brush growth, as well as LOTS OF PREDATORS. Cats, coyotes, coons....the three C's. This concerns me, but I don't know what to do.

Where, oh where, can my liittle bird be?

She's just a little pullet, a couple months old....I'm worried.

I had a wyandotte do that a few weeks ago. I'd go to lock them up for the night, do my head count, and come up one short. She did it 2 nights in a row. Don't know where she slept. I walked around my entire backyard with a flashlight about a dozen times, never found her. My yard is 1.84 acres or so, so lots of hiding places. She's be waiting for me in the morning and walk with me to let everyone else up. I hung around at bedtime the next few nights but she started going to bed with everyone else again, guess she didn't want to give up her hiding spot. Good look finding your pullet, or I hope she at least found a nice safe spot.

I had a polish that did that once. She went off. Couldn't find her but the next day she was there. 2 weeks later... she left and she's been gone for a month!

I miss her so much!!

I found her!! She was up on top of the coop under the black locust tree hunkered down. She is all black and was tough to spot. I climbed up and got her down and she's in the coop safe now. At least I know where to look now!
