where is the line?

Wings honey, you sound young and you are certainly entitled to your opinion.

To understand this maybe you can picture your own yard. Strangers have made a path and not only throw trash and threaten you, but they are destroying your chicken coop, letting your chickens out, or maybe even building a campfire and having a chicken dinner.

You have complained to your sheriff and state police but they can't help you because the governor won't enforce the laws. Laws are important for a society; otherwise, there is chaos.

Picture President Obama or Bush having his property violated and destroyed for years. How long do you think it would take to enforce laws?
Sometimes laws must be enforced to protect society.

Of course, illegal immigration is much more complex than that example.

Yes, illegal immigration is a complex problem. The cause of the problem is in Washington, but the sad effects are here.

You cannot fault people for wanting a better life; if my kids were starving in Mexico, we would be crawling through the fence too.
Social welfare programs and employment opportunities lure people north. This provides a better life temporarily.

But in the long run this does those very people a disservice. Kids brought into the country illegally grow up and hit a road block when they graduate from high school. They have problems getting into colleges and universities because they don't have documents or a valid social security number. They cannot get scholarships or qualify for aid. And in some states, they cannot even get a driver's license.

Even if they do get into and graduate from college, their employment prospects are limited without documents. A degree in engineering is worthless if you can only be a janitor at a Marriot Inn.

They cannot return to Mexico because they mostly are not fluent in Spanish. And if they did, they would have problems getting jobs because they don't have their cartilla militar showing that they did their military service.

I am afraid the only answer to the problem is another amnesty. Legalize the people here, and at the same time build a wall to stop the flow of future illegal immigrants.

Then we need to re examen our immigration laws that allow people that hate us to enter this country. We don't need anymore radical muslims in this country.

We need to reallocate those immigration slots to Mexican and Central Americans.

My two cents.

Not every radical muslim is here to destroy our country. I think you have the freedom to exercise whatever religon you want. THere are so many muslims in the middle east that are just as poor as those illegal mexicans that run across that guys land. If you want to do something lower the prices for immigration , it costs over 1500$ now.If we keep on getting more mexians, central and south americans pretty soon caucasians, black people and asians will be a minority.Actually in some areas they already are. To be honest i am tired of push 1 for english. Why dont we have 2 for arabic, 3 for chinese, 4 for polish.......
If you crossed illegally you left your right on the border.

I'm proud to be a liberal all day long but somebody comes on my land and hurts my animals and makes me fear for my safety and by golly there's gonna be a war. I definitely feel for their plight but there are ways to come to this country legally just like my people did.

Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, and so am I. That is my two cents.

I know, it's just the "radical Muslims" and "they have other places to go" and stuff that really puts me over the edge.

I don't want to sound young and vain and go all "save the Mexicans" and so on, but I thought everyone was being a little harsh.

I would like to thank everyone for taking me seriously.
