Where on the internet do I look for free items

I was trying to find a site that has people advertising their free items. I wasn't sure of which one for my area. I'm sure they're out there....just don't know where and how to phrase it for the search engine to find it for me. I live in Galesburg Illinois, so what website can I use that would get me close to my area for free items? Thanks in advance!
