It's for the future, not immediate.
Seems like all the silkies I get aren't show quality. I am in California, if that helps any. I've always wanted to enter a silkie hen in a show, white or splash. Also, somewhere that doesn't make me order 20 or so chickens. Jeez, I hate that. One site added an additional order of ducks (that I DIDN'T want) and I kept looking for a way to remove it. I just quit since I only wanted 4 hens and a drake but I couldn't find a site that worked that way.

If you want "show quality silkies, stay away from hatcheries. Check out their club. It should have a breeders list, you may even find one local.

Hi ! If you're not in a rush to get a show-quality Splash Silkie hen, we are planning on breeding some Splash chickies next year (do you think chickies are easier to ship than larger chickens ?). (But then you don't know if you are getting hens or roosters - we don't know how to sex chickies yet) We probably could part with one splash silkie hen right now....planning on a trip to FL anytime soon ? My son only ended up with 7 splash Silkies from his Blue Silkie crosses. His Blue Silkie rooster did win at the County Fair this year.

We are in Ft. Pierce, FL. We do know a chicken breeder that ships his chickens overnight. We've never shipped them before but can talk to him about shipping them (what special chicken shipping boxes he uses). (I think FedEx overnight may be a bit pricey).

Check out our website: www.emsquaredfarms.weebly.com for pics of our chickens.

I love the Splash Silkies the best. One even had a vaulted skull and a couple of the black silkies too. One Silkie has such a cute fluffy head (in an oval shape - like a Russian hat-that I named her Fluffy Hat).

Thanks,
Lisa

p.s. Hope you find your Splash or White Silkie Hen you're looking for
