Looking for a reputable place for Buff geese. I was going to get Cotton Patch but they can fly and with us living where we do that is not a good idea. Our ducks (Muscovy) can fly but the ones we have now stay home thank goodness...although some in the past did wonder outside our yard. Is there somewhere in GA or SC? I would love to pick them up and the goslings not be shipped if at all possible, but I also realize that may not be reality. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I got mine from Metzer Hatchery. They came alive and healthy.
That is one of my top pick for hatcheries to order from if I have to have them shipped. What is your gander to goose ratio if you don't mind me asking? I was thinking I read somewhere it was 1 gander to 4 geese. Am I right?

Right now I have 1 male and 4 females. I think it's fine to just have one of each, I've never noticed aggressive breeding like ducks from them.

Ganders are not like roosters or domestic drakes, and you do not need 4 females to 1 male. With too many of one gender, you run risk of one being rejected by group. I think pairs or trios work better for geese.
Good to know! Thank you. I’m used to chickens and ducks. I will start with a trio and go from there ☺️
Metzer and McMurray are the only two I know of
Metzer I think is who I will go with. Sad there isn’t any local breeders.

I just ordered some American Buff from Meyer Hatchery. Last I checked they had some with summer hatch dates still, I think spring is already spoken for.
