Hello. Okay so I've been looking for some chicks online. I looked at Meyers hatchery but they only had roosters, ideal everything is sold out till 2014, mc meyer you have to buy 25 chicks and efowl you have to buy 25 chicks. I want a site with LOTS of variety WITHOUT a minim order anybody have any suggestions?

Depends on what you're looking for. I personally prefer Ideal. I've had good luck with their birds. If what you want says sold out, there should be a "notify when available" link. Occasionally they have unexpected chicks hatch and they will email or call you in that case. With Ideal you don't have to order a minimum number of chicks BUT they will include extra males if your order is less than 25 chicks - you can opt out of getting males but you have to call and tell them. I always accept the males and put them in the freezer when they are older.

On Meyer's site, click on the "available now" or whatever it's called--it's on the left side with a couple ducklings. A few breeds that are frequently "sold out" will show up there--including Marans pullets. Though, that's if you want chicks this week.
