where to buy diatomaceous earth (DE) locally? (in MI)

I found it at McGough's Feed in Traverse City. 40 lbs for around $22.

well I found an online source for feed stores in Michigan, gives their address and phone #s so I'm going to start calling the places today.

If you go to PermaGuard.com (a maker of food grade DE) they have a map

Try http://perma-guard.com/

I
found this under Michigan:

John M. Smoll [wholesale distributer - call for retail outlets]
Sturgis, MI 49091
269-651-1566

If you call this guy, he's the one supplying food grade DE to stores in the Michigan area so should be able to tell you where you can buy it. Good luck!

If you're ever in northern Indiana, Dubois in Mentone carries it. If you call around ask about it as an anti-caking additive for feed. That's what Dubois sells it as.

Ive called Smoll today and left a message, called a bunch of Feed & Seed st ores and half of them don't know what I'm talking about, the others don't carry it. Brother. I know I can get it thru the health food store Grains and Greens, but they want 4.49 for a pound.

For those interested I did end up finding some at Oakridge Feed in Kalamazoo. They also carry Manna Pro feed.

I work at TSC in NW ohio, Toledo to be exact, and we just got it in this year. It is 20 lbs, for less than 20 bucks? Should know the price, but just got it in last month? Sorry....It is food grade too:)

Not sure how far north you are from Wauseon, Ohio, but they should carry it too, or Defiance, Ohio? Defiance is a little more south though.

Good luck in your search!
