So, I've never bought hatching eggs before but I'm anxious to use my new incubator in the spring!!! Does the buy/sell/trade for hatching eggs get more active in the spring? Has anyone had luck ordering hatching eggs from cackle, murray mcmurray, mypetchicken, etc?
Thanks!

The selling sites do get more active later......the is the 24 hr. selling site. I'll see if I can find it. Of course, something to remember, .shipping is hard enough on eggs..in the winter cold..harder. I used to do it though. Sometimes good, most times not so good.

I've ordered eggs from MPC. Some had excellent hatching rates and others were duds. It's all in the way they are handled during shipping. I've also gotten muscovy eggs from Murray McMurray with decent results.

This is the slow time of year for eggs. In a couple of months things will definitely pick up.

Oh, I never bought eggs from the hatcheries...maybe someone else can give you an idea of how that went for them.

Hey, do know if the new year hatch slong is happening?

Your best bet will be to post on Facebook, in farm/livestock/chicken groups, come spring. March if it's warm where you are, or April. That way you don't have to deal with shipping, and they'll be a heck of a lot cheaper than ordering from hatcheries. Have you guys looked at the prices there? Sheesh!

I always recommend that you get hatching eggs from actual farmers I have found the some hatcheries do not do their check for diseases like they should I had a terrible experience before let's just say I don't do anything but from farms now i do have a bunch of different chickens if interested just let me know I have a wonderful hatchery after shipping
