Where to buy pure ameraucanas

a few Roos won’t hurt me we have room. Thank you for the input! I’ve been scouring all the hatcheries and feedback on the different blue layers All day. I was starting to get discouraged.

I found a couple pics from February on my phone...

these were from a Cackle splash hen ... I’d think their blue and black lines would be the same as far as egg color...

Hopefully in about 5 1/2 months I’ll be able to give a good review on Cackle Hatchery’s Ameraucanas. It will be that long because I ordered 3 black and 3 blues from them this morning. :D

FUN!!
I really want Blue layers I just don’t want off white cool blue might as well stick with leghorns and a plethora of eggs in that case. Looks like the legbars are fairly pale or greenish as well? McMurray has a new blue egg producer but they aren’t available til June.

Well those look Pretty blue to me! I was thinking maybe if I got some Am Roo’s and some other blue laying hens that Maybe I could get something a little darker from the babies, but I have No idea how chicken egg color genetics work.

Well the one picture they look a bit more blue than in real life due to the lighting, but the ones in the carton are very close to real life...

Funny you should mention the crosses, I just posted this pic earlier today... these eggs are from the offspring of the cackle splash am. hen and a salmon faverolles rooster...

they’re a nice light green... the salmon favs lay a very light brown egg though, so a more normal brown would result in a darker green... but these green ones are about the same as what my sister’s Easter Eggers laid

normally I don’t love the green eggs but those are a really pretty shade!

I was thinking if I got some legbar hens and some prairie bluebells and some whiting TB with some am’s and let them procreate willynilly 😂 I could end up with some nice blues down the line someplace. Normally I am a huge breed snob (horse girl lol) but I just want the blue!!
