I’ve been looking everywhere for african harlequin quail. I’ve raised them in the past but now they seem to have vanished. If someone could point me to a breeder, It would be greatly appreciated. I’ll take eggs or live birds.

When I had them the first time I got a 30% hatch rate. It the second generation I only got about 8%. At the same time I had silver schofield quail, and was getting a 96% hatch rate. I keep the African Quail until they got too old to lay. This is my second attempt.Garrie Landry in LA used to raise them. I don't know if he still does. I've been contemplating getting some, but from what I've heard, they have a lot of infertility issues. I'm just not ready to tackle them yet.

Any idea how one goes about importing quail, and what kind of costs are associated with such a venture. I own an outdoor supply company so it would be a business expense for me. Except rain quail are my dream quail, so if I had something imported that would be it.We really need new bloodlines in the US. I have a feeling that has a lot to do with the infertility problems. I have talked with a friend of mine about the possibility of importing some, but the time and expense isn't something I can take on right now.
