Hello-

I live in the California Bay Area and am trying to find a source for the kind of unlabeled egg cartons that can be spit into 6-packs, like these: http://www.mypetchicken.com/catalog/Egg … s-p21.aspx. My flock of 13 chickens are finally laying eggs too quickly for me to scrounge used egg cartons!

I want to avoid the high shipping costs that I'm finding online ($30+ !). If anyone knows any local sources for 6-pack cardboard egg cartons, i'd be thrilled to hear it.

Thanks!
Sarah

I will never figure out why empty paper cartons cost as much or more then a carton full of eggs at the grocery store

My TSC just started having them this spring. They are 46 cents each carton for 12-pack size, all they say is farm fresh eggs or something generic like that. They are by the incubators.

My mom returns the cartons and my MIL buys enough store bought eggs, despite me sharing mine with her, that she keeps injecting fresh recycled cartons into my rotation. It's a good thing because my neighbors never return the cartons.

I have found those blank cartons way too costly. I have asked friends, neighbors and co-workers to give me their used ones and have never been short on egg cartons! I also found our local co-op to be a great source of cartons (although I really don't need that source). I made my own label with some info on my flock and my name and address. It is a win-win: The egg cartons get re-used and I get them for free
