Where to find Welsh Harlequin Ducks in the PNW?

We are looking for 2 or 3 Welsh Harlequin Ducks to join our flock, but we have had heartbreak with shipping in the past and would like to find somewhere within a few hours driving distance of the Tacoma area in Washington state. Does anyone know where to look in this area?

I have been considering them, currently they are completely sold out and have no listing of availability. They also only appear to sell straight run, although it appears the welsh harlequin have a distinctive bill by sex for the first few days. If you go pick them up can you pick them out and possibly gauge based on sex? I will have chickens in the same area and only want 2 or 3 and don't want to risk a poor ratio which could endanger my chickens.

I have one up south of Bellingham you could buy/trade. She’s 3.5 months old. I just have the one WH though. Alternatively I could set you up with a mixed trio but that’s not what you asked.

I’d try Skagit craigslist too. There’s a hobby farmer in Oak Harbor that posts a lot of good looking poultry chicks. Right now they have Muscovy, but I’ve seen various different birds.

You would have to get teenage ducks not ducklings. You would be able to pick sex.

There is a posting on Seattle craigslist now for SR hatchlings and eggs in Granite Falls, you can just search for Welsh Harlequin in the for sale section. We’re in Seattle and just got our 3 welsh ducklings from Metzer, it’s only day 3 but so far they are healthy and happy. Good luck finding yours!
