Im going to be getting ducks in the spring im starting to build the coop, plus the add on pen. Ive been looking into hatcheries but the problem is i can only have 2 ducks and i dont want to pay 30 to 50 dollars for a small order fee. Im asking a friend who has ducks if she would collaborate and i can just order 2 and she can still order her few for the year, but she hasnt responded. Im mainly looking at Welsh Harlequin, Swedish blues, or Rouen if they dont have the other 2 i like them all. So were do you all get your ducks? The local store gets them from Cackle hatchery and wont be having Swedish blues. And then the other hatchery about 1 hour away gets all their ducks and chickens from Hoovers Hatchery.

Craigslist?
Can you order Swedish blues through you feed store from cackle? Some feed stores allow people to piggy back orders.
My feed store is doing it all online and the minimum is 3 ducks, no exceptions. Im not to fond of Craigslist but ill look. Im trying to find someone to go along with my order. Just looking for hatcheries.

I don't think any hatchery is going to ship less than 3. Can you buy a few more then sell them? Try advertising at your feed store for someone to split an order with.

I could buy a few then sell them, or if they let me do meat ducks i could butcher them at 16 weeks before anyone knows i have them. 🤔 i have a few friends that have ducks so im asking them.

you could also look to rehome two ducks online somewhere like pets4homes (not sure you have this is America) or another pet advertising website you can find.
are you getting 2 ducks of the same gender, if not you would need to buy more ducks as it would have to be 3 drakes to one female otherwise over mating will take place in the future and the female can get very injured or it could even be fatal, so just make sure they are the same gender when purchasing : )

Im hoping to get 2 females. Im wanting Welsh Harlequins or Swedish Blues which ever the feed store has, when i get them. I heard you can sex Welsh Harlequins at day old, but not Swedish blues is that correct?

I'm not too familiar with Swedish blues, but they can be sexed by vent sexing I would assume, which is easiest done at a young age but can be done to adult ducks as well. Are you getting them as ducklings?
if where you get them from doesn't know what gender they are, I wouldn't buy them from there unless you wanted to try and vent sex them yourself before bringing them home ( hopefully they would have already sexed them). Here is a link to a video of how to do this if you want to have a look
(but it would be better for someone else to do it for you if you haven't done it before as it can be dangerous and harm the duckling if you do it wrong)
I hope that helps Xx
