FYI: There was a breeder selling "Freedom Rangers" as an alternative to the Cornish/Rock crosses that don't do so well on pasture, who went out of business. Some farmers on the Weston A. Price Farmers group said really good things about the Freedom Rangers for free range meat production. Turns out the breeding stock was bought up by JM Hatchery in PA http://www.jmhatchery.com/ and you can now buy the chicks there under the name "Colored Rangers". Someone on the group just processed some and said they dressed out at 4 lb. average.
