I have been using the whip cream/cottage cheese container for a waterer but was wondering what can I use now that they are a little older. I think I need something a little more secure and deeper. I can't have anything to big in size though as it would take up an awful lot of brooder space.

Next, my ducklings have grown little toenails and they are tearing me up as they crawl over me. I was wondering if I can cut their toenails? Thanks for any help.

I remember those days, of taller ducklings with toenails. Youch!!!

I switched over to tall yogurt tubs with a weight in the bottom. I also had a miniature crock that was heavy enough, for a while, to resist tipping.

Eventually, it came down to getting them into the tub, a few times a week, and now it's getting them outside on mild days so they can frolic in the concrete mixing pan.

Seems like solutions work for a few days, sometimes a week, and then they outgrow it. Kinda fun, actually.
