I will be keeping my chicken food in my garage, what should I store in it to make sure nothing can get into it?

I keep mine right in our barn. What I found work best for me was using a galvanized trash can with a lid. The lid fits nice and tight and they hold 100 lbs of feed. Only had a problem one time and that was last spring we had a bear go in the barn after the feed I have for our deer, guess he could smell the molasses in it. He never made it to the feed, but I don't think it would have kept him out anyway. Other than that, never had a problem with anything getting in it.

I've had a mouse chew through a plastic trash can but my galvanized metal one works great.

Ditto on the metal cans over the plastic ones...leave it in the bag to avoid any condensation problems.

Galvanized can or chest freezer -- or an old, metal foot locker -- we have/use all three for various feeds here on our place.

An old ( nonworking) chest freezer is best for keeping feed dry and mice away if you have the room for it.! They are nice because you can keep several bags of opened feed inside, unlike using a trash can. Metal trash cans work well also though.
