Where do you keep your duck food if you don't have a structure or coop? My ducks just live in a large 12 x 24 dog kennel and have doghouses as "houses" Do you think if I keep a large tote in their kennel it would be ok?

We keep our duck food in empty cat litter buckets in the duck runs. This way we can just fill bowls every morning. Each breed of duck or goose has their own bucket. Then we have several buckets in the barn and when we empty a bucket in the run, we just grab another bucket from the barn and bring it up.

I have a variety of wooden boxes I have recycled from work. They are lined with plastic and situated both beside the night pens inside the shed and under a small undercover area beside the back door. Depending on if they are inside or outside- I get the feed from the closer of the two feed bins - I keep a large scoop in each box which id the right size for the amount of each feed given. I also have a number of plastic feed bins for different feeds- such as starter- which is inside the house because the ducklings are as well.

We keep our animal feeding supplies in the mudroom right by the door where we go out to feed the animals, and we bring back the empty containers we use to tote the food out. It rains a lot here and we have rodents outdoors so keeping them inside (where our cats live) protects in in a couple ways.

I keep mine outside next to the duck house in a metal garbage can. This way nothing (like a squirrel!) can chew through and it tolerates snow and rain.
