We live in the woods on a mountain in West Va. So our coop in under trees. Our hens have just started laying and they are only about 19 weeks old. I'm getting 4 eggs a day which I think is magnificant! They do free range during the day and like to sun bathe. I guess my point is, I don't think it matters where the coop is as long as they are comfortable.
