Hi everyone

I have some 6 month old pulleys that I think are about to lay.

How close to their roost should I place their nesting box.

At the moment it's about 10 meters away

Truth is I never thought a bout how far from the coop they could go. Since most place them in or right around the coop the question just hasn't appeared on my radar. Chickens can and do make nests that are a distance from the roosts so I think it they could be trained. In general putting them close to where they hang out would work best. Have to ponder this some more.

Wow, 10 metres is a long way! There is no definite answer to your question, as it all depends on where in the coop the roost is positioned. But their nests should be in places where they feel at home and comfy.
