A way to overcome the issue with getting enough from drinking water is to feed it to them. That is what I did with the liquid form. I had to hold the birds like a baby with one arm, and then have the stuff ready so I can feed it to them. I had to go slow so it would not spill out. I would also watch for them to swallow, giving them a break. It took some time but after loosing 40-50 birds, it was worth the time. I did give them their treatment first thing in the morning.
