I have a small cross breed bantam that started to lay recently. The eggs are very small, about the size of a quarter. I have yet to find one with any yolk, only a small amount of white. How long until I might start getting a complete egg?

Thanks.

Carl,

It's just like seedless watermelons.

Low cholesterol eggs!

It could take a few weeks.

you are up late!

I see you are up too! I have been asleep but am having one of my typical nights of being up 2 or 3 times. My PD medication at work!
I guess I could market my yolkless eggs couldn't I?

Your bantam is just a bit 'windy', she is laying 'fart' eggs!

Seriously though, when she does start laying you will find that the yolk is actually quite an impressive size in bantam eggs.

That's good to know! It will be great then when that little fart gives me some complete eggs! Thanks for the response. How's things in New Zealand?

Great thanks, although one part of the country is recovering from a massive earthquake followed by a week of aftershocks. Enjoy your bantam. I get a thrill everyday when I go to collect the eggs.

Thank you. I look forward to her little eggs. Those earthquakes are sure challenging.I assume you were not effected. We never know when we will though. Need to be prepared!
