they are dyed

I thought these were injected eggs, or was it someone else who did that? I know someone on here was talking about injecting eggs with dye that would hatch as colorful chicks.

Maybe it was all a dream

Geez, I think I'm spending too much time at BYC if I'm dreaming about it.

IMO I think they are cute! But DH and I watched Animal Planet a few weeks ago....Animal Cops I think was the program and they took someones colored chicks. The person they took them from was the person that injected the dye into the eggs and the local ASPCA took the chicks due to animal cruelty.

I dont know that much about the eggs and what is going on in them prior to hatching, but I still think they are cute... but I dont think I would ever try it.

I'll be glad to let you find out! My dog looks like she wants to volunteer to be taster too.

I saw that episode of Animal Cops. It was in NYC where it is illegal to sell the colored chicks. (due to the fact people tend to buy them as disposable toys for little kids and have no clue how to care for them, they have made it illegal there and many other places to dye them or to sell, trade or give away colored chicks, ducks or rabbits under tha age of 2 months)

I got 12 of the colored chicks, all male. Since some of them are BO's or Leghorns, they will go to the flock at the stables. There are maybe 3-4 that aren't and I will be keeping those. So not too many.....(never too many chickens, right?)

Wow i've never heard of this before, and never seen anything like it either! They look cute...in a weird way
