What works for me and DH when a respiratory bug comes on is Oscillococcinum (for fever, chills, body aches & pains) and
Sambucol elderberry extract (for viral infections). Both items can be found on a health food store, although Walmart carries Oscillococcinum. It significantly shortens the duration of the flu.
It couldn't hurt to use this stuff for intestinal viral infections.
