Hello! I have another thread on here for my 22 week old hen with a lame leg. Long story short if possible, we have been dealing with a limp that turned into a lame leg for probably 3 weeks or more now. The leg just drags behind her when she hops around, and mostly lays out straight to her side when laying down. I have been treating for vitamin deficiency for about 8 days in hoping that might help (B100 complex). I also started as of yesterday Vitamin E in yogurt via syringe throughout the day, as she won’t touch the yogurt on her own.
Her stools are also loose/diarrhea most of the time and greenish (or yellow after the B100 vitamin is given). I don’t feel she has improved or gotten worse. I can feel her keel bone pretty prominently, though, even though I would say she eats and drinks normally.
I’m fearing the worst that we might actually be dealing with Mareks, in which case my whole flock is impacted and I can’t even imagine what’s to come (there are no others showing symptoms as of right now).
We also treated for coccidiosis and tape worm in July.
My question is, if I wanted to try and treat with antibiotics as a last ditch effort (if not vitamin deficiency or Mareks), which antibiotic should I use with these symptoms?? I have been googling and not feeling led one way or another.
I will continue to treat with vitamins as well. She has been in her own section of the run so as not to get picked on, but I don’t know if I should have removed her all along.
(Pics are from her hanging out in the landscaping by my house this morning after giving her bum a bath. The run is sand, not mulch).
Thanks for your time!
