A friend told me that male (goslings or goose) are more talkative, and generally more friendly than females. I have an 8-week-old gosling and a 2 week old gosling, both of which are very chatty. One friend says the females are more talkative, one says the males are? So which is it? Or is there no difference? I would really like to know what they are, and am hoping they are both the same sex. Two females would be ideal, but that would be asking a lot I think. They are different breeds, and I would like to have only one, but can't bear to get rid of one or the other!

Anyone know how to sex them? I have an 8-week-old american blue, and a 2-week-old embden.

Well, unfortunately I have 1 8-week-old and 1 2-week-old, so the tone of the voice doesn't really help.

The older one is acting very protective of the young ducks that it lives with, is this just a goose thing, or does this mean it is male?
