The neighbors shared an order of goslings with me a while back. They took two females and once they were mature one of the females was dominating the other and had pulled feathers off the back of her neck. I think they may have chilled out some since then, and was probably during breeding season.Looks rough XD I'm going to just have to turn my head whenever I see it.
Thats what I'm guessing. Breeding season makes them a little weird. Last year after breeding season Gizzy became oddly sweet for a few months. It was odd cause she was standoffish from gosling age.The neighbors shared an order of goslings with me a while back. Its gotten a bit better lol Gizzy is still occasionally going after her. But its not as aggressive and Greta has seemed to learn that Gizzy is top goose. However Greta is also afraid of our Rooster and possibly some chickens lol. I'm not quite sure yet if its just the movements or the birds in general. But yeah its going alright lol.The neighbors shared an order of goslings with me a while back. I don't think she has. She seems to have no boundaries when it comes to people she pushes right against me and hides behind me but when it comes to chickens she keeps her distance. Our geese grew up with the chickens so they were pretty nippy and dominant over them from the start. When mine where younger and smaller they were terrified of the chickens haha... maybe this one hasn't experienced them.
I imagine it's probably just a matter of time and things will completely change.I don't think she has. We finally got bird seed so were starting to grow fodder again. I'm excited to see how she reacts. She completely ignores all the treats I try giving her. Our geese are BIG junkfood hogs. Today they got bread but while Gus was trying to take my fingers off while I was pulling pieces off and Gizzy was eating the pieces I tossed on the ground. Greta seemed to ignore them? I kind of feel bad she's missing out on good treats.
I just watched the cutest thing ever today! The geese came out because they've been penned up with the chickens the past few days due to wind + temps. I refreshed their water and was passing by the window. Gus and Gizzy were bathing cleaning themselves doing the little body lifts and head movements with a little flaps and off to the side Greta was imitating them in the snow I started laughing. It was so cute. I've never seen her do that. Makes me really excited for warm weather so I can fill the kiddy pool.I imagine it's probably just a matter of time and things will completely change.
