Which brand dry cat food for chickens?

I tried calf manna and the girls wont touch it. I had it for my nursing rabbits- a 1/2 teaspoon or so a day to a nursing doe rabbit helps boost the milk production. but the chickens didnt want anythign to do with it!!! heck my chickens dont even want layer pellets they want nothing but scraps... spoiled princesses!!!

If I want to increase protein I feed gamebird / turkey/ flockraiser pellets or a layer pellet that is 20% protein.

Feeding cat food is actually more expensive per pound and the birds don't need the extra salt in their diet.

If your goal is to put animal protein into the chicken diet then I feed a bit of canned fish. My dogs get canned mackerel every few days so I give the rest of the can to the chickens. And when I find some canned fish of any sort in the "scratch and dent" basket at the grocery I buy them and put them on the pantry shelf for the chickens. I also watch for coupons and sales on canned cat food. I also save any meat scraps from the dinner table. And when the weather is nice enough to go fishing I save the "fish cleaning bucket" for the girls. They really think that's a great treat! But their favorite meat treat is meal worms. I've been buying them at the pet store but am going to start my own breeding bin for them soon.
