Hello!

A neighbor gave me this rooster about 3 weeks ago. I have no clue which breed and how old he is. I have a mixed flock and he is quite a gentle man with all 5 girls. He leads them to treats, protects them, is always alert and watching over them. I never thought I would be so in love. He does crow like crazy and pretty loud too, all hours of the day and night!

I agree with breed assessment by the first poster.. either an olive egger or possibly a sex link.

I think age is closer to 6 months based on spur size and leg scale condition, according to my experience.. I'm not an expert.

He is gorgeous and such a gentle man. I can't get over the way he is with the girls. I had a english bantam rooster and he almost killed my barred rock hen (older hen I'm assuming). She wouldn't let him on her and he viciously attacked her. Thank God I got to her in time. She was bleeding slowly. From that point I have been terrified of roosters because of her, but this was a sign. I tried it again and this time I can't believe the difference. Thank you for your feedback!

Thank you for your feedback! I feel he is pretty mature for a rooster. Previous one when he hit puberty he went crazy on one of my hens. Tried mating her forcefully and almost killed her. I feel this breed and age is more stable (hormone wise) than my previous one.
