I have 7 girls and I'm pretty sure 5 of them are now laying. I'm still very new to the chicken experience and can't figure out which breed is laying which egg. I have 2 Easter Eggers, 2 Barred Rock, a Welsummer, a buff orpington and a lavender orpington. I obviously know the EE is laying the green egg, but any idea on the others? I can't figure out who's laying the really large cream colored eggs.

Good point! When I bought her I was told she was a barnvelder. As she started maturing she didn't look like a barnvelder to me so I posted pics on here and was told she was actually a welsummer. Tell me what you think from the pic

None of what you listed should lay a white egg. The above doesn't look like a welsummer to me, but neither does she look like a brown leghorn. Wouldn't a brown leghorn have a larger comb?

None of the eggs are the white of a leghorn and the bird shown is not looking like a brown leghorn, but does look like a hatcheries quality welsummer. The light eggs are pretty typical for what I've gotten from orpingtons

I don't think your Wellie is laying yet.

I think the creamy eggs are from an Orpington, probably the buff since they're more production bred than the lavenders. Your other eggs look like my barred Rock pullet's eggs.

Her ear covering is brown, her earlobe is red.
Agrees, hatchery grade Wellie.

You could always do a butt check.
Vent Appearance:
Dry, tight, and smaller - usually not laying.
Moist, wide, and larger - usually laying.

Pelvic Points, feel for the 2 bony points(pelvic bones) on either side of vent:
Less than 2 fingertip widths apart usually means not laying.
More than 2 fingertip widths apart usually means laying.

Here's the ear thing ....this is a Wellie too.

I have an EE that lays pearl white eggs. She used to lay light blue, but a few months in she changed to a very white pearl color.
