you've not met my Camellia and her crew! They're white orps, and I guess they missed the memo about not being a vocal breed! They get a cheer section going every day in the garage, and gonzo, the white orp rooster, stands on my back porch, facing the door and crows all day! my buffs are too bad though!

Huh, my BO are just as sweet as they can be! Even the roos don't mind me! ( But I have a hen named " J.T. " and she loves tp kill my boots ...? )

Oh they're super friendly, just super vocal also... The girls and the "cheer" section happens in the morning while they're laying eggs in the old doghouse.... they have 5 nesting boxes in the coop.. but they all love the old doghouse.. They get in there and fuss at each other to hurry up. Its a riot in the morning to watch! The kids call it the "chicken olympics" cause its always a race 100ft to the garage to get there first. We have a bo we call cheesepuff that will set in your lap and peep like a chick! Love'm They're great!

I love Henderson's breed chart. It's really great for comparing breeds of chickens. Under the name of the breed in the left hand column, there are links to other sites that you can click on. Feathersite has great photos. They show a lot of the different color varieties for the breeds. They also have a lot of the pullet and cockerel photos at different ages, as well as chick pictures, so you can tell who is who in the brooder.

hmmmm... i like BOs, its just that buff is way too common, now if natures hatchery sold blue black or white THEN i would but cochins have plenty of colors, and natures hatchery sells: red, white, blue (patriotic), barred, i think partgridge (or how ever you spell it), golden laced, and silver laced.

I think you should get buff orpingtons and barred plymoth rocks.

I have love it when I go this kind of chicken!!

They act like sisters!!

I had two, Amy an Maizy, and they were SOO cute and SOOO nice!!!!!

Buffs are NOT quiet!!

Barred plymoth rocks are SOOOO cute!!!

Buff Orpingtons have pink eggs!!!

Barred PLymoth Rocks have pink eggs with almost purple-colored spots!!!!
