Which breed should I get?

I am deciding between 2 breeds. Speckled Sussex or Barred Rock. I already have a SS and she is amazingly friendly (hasnt started to lay yet). Which of these two breeds is better for these requirements:



Great layer

Very friendly

Good for showing


I can only get one of the two so any input would be great! Thanks!

UPDATE: Getting a Barred rock. I am not breeding SS or Barred Rocks so thats why I only need one. Its to get some different lines in with my Naked Necks. Speckled and Barred NN's

If you are going to go with Barred Rocks...get some heritage Barred Rocks. kathyinmo has some really pretty ones.... and she ships chicks.

We are getting them from a lady near us. They have both and those are the laying breeds I think are pretty so we are choosing between those two.

if ur looking for show birds go look for best show quailty each breed u like see witch one u can find because prodution bird arent show birds
