Hi everyone,
After a couple of years without chickens, we feel the need to have some in our garden again. What we're looking for are sweet, friendly chickens that go well with small kids (and with small dogs under supervision). We've had orpingtons in the past, which we loved, but we want to try other breeds as well, so we came up with the following breeds:
- Australorp
- Rhode Island Red
- New Hampshire
- Orpington (because why not...)
I've read around the forum that australorps are really friendly and compare quite well to orpingtons regarding personality, so they are my nr. 1 together with orpingtons. I've read mixed reviews about rhode island reds, so I'm hesitant about them. Can anyone tell me how new hampshires compare to orpingtons and australorps? We love a nice ginger colored chicken though, so a bit of help would be appreciated
