which breed???

hello,

If you remember i had this question a while ago and at the end decided on a buff orpington. well... i cant get buff orpingtons sooooooooooo i need more ideas on a breed. it needs to be friendly and extremely good at laying. oh,and cold/heat hardy.

I didn't see your original post. But I'd like to help if I can. Have you considered a Sex-Link? I prefer Red, but the Blacks are good too.

Where are you located? If you can't get Orpingtons, there may be any number of other breeds you won't be able to find. More specifics would help too. Are you looking for a heavy duty egg layer, one for both eggs/meat, a good forager or one that tolerates confinement, heat/cold hardy, a pet, an ornamental type?

the reason i cant get orpingtons are because they are to broody. I want a heavy duty egg layer, but it needs to be heat and cold hardy because our summers get HOT and our winters COLD.A friendly would be really nice but not necessary and one thats good at foraging would be good but also not necessary. I really will never butcher my chickens so dual purpose is useless and if its ornamental or not does not matter.
