My Golden Buffs are the friendliest hens. They even know their names individually. They follow me around like a puppy dog. I have never had another breed bu I can say for sure that this is one of the friendlier ones.

I am really enjoying my Brahmas. They have been the friendliest birds since I hatched them. I have some SLW, GLW, Orps and Ameraucanas and they are all pretty stand offish.

I loved my Brahma. She died this week during the storm freakishly to what we think is a heart attack but she was one of my only chickens, besides my silkies that loved to be petted. :: sigh ::

My Buff Orpington is - by far - the most docile. My Barred Rock is pretty docile too. The Easter Egger (Ameraucana mutt) has the best personality... funny, dominant, flies to get on my back or shoulder. (Not quite so cute now that she's almost full-size...) For the other end of the spectrum, my Welsummer is the least personable. Takes me a while to catch her, every time.

My girls are very friendly. Or they're creepy stalkers - I'm still undecided.

They follow me around the yard, and wait for me on the top of my stairs where the back door is, trying to get my attention through the door. Only one lets me pick her up willingly, but the others put up with the occasional pat. (The rule here is, if you get too close to my feet when I'm walking then it means you want me to pat you! LOL)

They're Black Australorp hybrids (crossed with ISA Browns). They give me an egg a day most days, forage well around the yard, destroy all the groundcover under our trees, and fly up to my lap when I sit in the yard with a cuppa - just in case I have something edible for them. They also are quite laid back when my baby and toddler follow them around the yard.

We only have low fencing around the yard and they've never yet left our property (Small suburban backyard).

We have six Speckled Sussix about five weeks old They have so much personality. The two roosters have been dubbed Odin and Thor by my boys and no joke, like to perch on their shoulders. The first few nights after they went to the floor we brought them inside at night. When it got dark we would bring a brooder box into the coop and the six would fight each other trying to jump inside. If you sit down in the coop they will jump into your lap.
