which breeds are the friendilst

Mine have changed, I have 2 EE, 2 BR, 2BB

We got them at 1 week old and I held them all the time, one of my EE and both the BR's wanted to be held all the time. They are 20 weeks old now and the BR's are the only ones that will let me pet them. The Buff's have always run from me like I was an axe murderer.

I can pick them all up if I need to, they dont run like crazy from me but there sure is alot fussing and flapping when I pick them up. The BR's will just talk nice to me and let me hold them.

Luckily she's only 2 1/2 months old.

I love my Buff Orphingtons. They are very friendly and tame.

When ever I come to the coop they run towards me and are so
excited to see me.

So far even my roos are very well behaved. I have had not problem out of
either of them ( I have two roos).

They are curious and are always happy to see me, even when I do not bring a treat.

I do not think I will have any other breed. I have fallen in love with the orphingtons.

Hope this helps.

I think our friendliest birds are our Mille fleur. Doesnt like to be caught but when we do she is soooo sweet. She sits on my daughters shoulder

That's so funny because I have a Mille pair, The hen is a doll, talks to you, loves to be held. The roo, Beelzabub is a terror, the meanest thing on two legs. He stalks me hiding between trees, behind bushes until he finds his chance to jump me. He's so fast that I can't catch him. I've taken to playing "Rooster Lacrosse" with a broom.

I think all chicken breeds have the potential to be both friendly or not. I think it is a individual bird thing. I have both Cochins and RIR that come sit on your lap. My RIR roo greets me at the gate when I come home and escorts me through the yard. He scratches at the dirt and calls me like one of his hens. At one time he would attack me and draw blood. After several sessions of being snatched up and carried like a baby (feet up and cradled) for an hour, he now is my best friend. If the Mille Fleur comes after me he runs him off.
