How will/do I know to clean chicken butts, please? Planning on getting my first batch very soon.

All I had to do was wet a paper towel and gently remove the stuck or pasted excrement. I believe it depends on the severity of the situation.

My chicks were shipped so the stress of shipping, I had a few pasty butts out of 14. Then I had a few more about a week later when I accidentally over heated the room they were in, then just one more time about another week later when I moved them from the guest bedroom to the garage but only one pasty butt on that stressful event, since then no more & they have been moved to the permanent housing. Keep water fresh and monitor after stress. You’ll do great!
