#1 has my vote. Very handsome. I wish there was a way to get #2 to New Hampshire I'd purchase him from you.

You make it hard for us...

You need to say more about the all important "What do you want?"

Showbirds? Then you need to find someone who
judges for competition or is at least very familiar with the standard.

If you want nice chickens, #2 seems to be the choice. A easy going
roo can be a real plus if you have kids or other pets around. That sounded
strange. Uh, are your kids pets?

do you know who the mother was? You might go with the best layer. I've heard
laying genes are passed through the male.

#1 looks better, but an extra month can make quite a difference.

Wait until you hear them both crowing. Weigh your options. Both look handsome. Choose the one that makes a nice crowing sound (music to your ears) Goodluck!

I know I had 2 Roo's that were near equal in quality. And I made my decision by who's crow I could tolerate the best. Right now I have an Orp who crow's the opening couple of bars of the Clint Eastwood movie," The Good, Bad and Ugly ".
Easy to name that bird. CLINT, LOL After he makes that opening crow, I finish the theme to the movie as I go about my feeding of the birds.

You have the same problem I have. My lighter ones have too much white in their undercoat, and the darker ones, too much red in the tail and wings. Balance your girls, are they lighter, or darker? choose the opposite.
