I'm fully convinced I can tell when there is a live baby in an egg because they produce their own heat, thus the egg is warmer to the touch than a dead one. If the other one was hotter I say leave it. But you may need to help it yourself in the bator and then give it back.

I was doing everything very quickly so I didn't notice if the one I put back was keeping its warmth or not. Probably check on it tomorrow, see if there's anything going on with it.
