There are two bases all horse colors are built off of. Chestnut (sorrel) and black. Bay, is black with the agouti gene, which restricts the black pigment to the points of the horse.

Other colors rebuild off of these three bases.

Bay + cream
1 copy: buckskin
2 copies: perlino

Sorrel + cream
1 copy: palomino
2 copies: cremello

Black + cream
1 copy: smokey blac
2 copies: smokey creme

Bay + dun= bay sun/dun
Chestnut + dun= red dun
Black + dun= grulla/blue dun


Bay roan
Red roan
Blue roan

Brown is black with the A^t agouti gene

And you can see it goes on and on, all over those three bases, and the third base uses one of the original two bass

When I was a teenager I had a girlfriend named Billa. She was named after her Dad who was Bill. So, it was Bill and Billa sitting in a tree blah blah blah and all that. Or, Billy and Billa depending on who was singing since I am called both still to this day. Given name is Billy.

And, just for the record: I think the name Bill and Billy sux. Why would I use it in my BYC name? I do not have a clue other than it is my name. There is only a handful of names I can think of worse than it. Richard might be one just because Dick is short for Richard. Who wants to be called that their whole life? And, how the heck do you get that from Richard, anyway
