Caveat, I'm a terrible human being, redditor, and have been on the internet since people waited hours to download 10 meg files off of usenet. Nothing really surprises me anymore.

I've been involved with computer connectivity before the Internet was a thing, you know, Usenet, FidoNet, RBBS, Compuserve, Prodigy? The thing is you are exactly right. There are some serious ruffians in the electronic world. I've seen nothing here more offensive than a strong opinion expressed a bit brusquely. Definitely nothing really scary. Of course, I have only been reading messages as a member for less than two months. Maybe, eventually, I will run up on something/someone scary!
