The happiest day of his life is the day he sells it

Or so the saying goes

Does not ring true for me and my boat. She loves me, has never forsaken me, never cheated on me, never left me, and most importantly she has never ever stranded me which is the most important thing with a boat

I have used her, driven her hard, taken her to some of the most daunting places, asked her to do things I never should have asked any boat to do, put 100’s, dare I say thousands, of fishy smelly fish in her, forgot to put her plug in once or twice, forgot to trim her motor up a couple of times and scraped her stag once or twice, hit dozens of partially sunken logs running wide open down a flooded murky river, unloaded her a few times when it was so flooded the boat ramp was 20 feet or more submerged, but we didn’t care, we just unloaded in the parking lot because that is where the water was at the time. No one anywhere around for miles but most people and their boats were at home during those messy dangerous times. We have out ran some of the worst storms together. We have just rode out several together that we couldn’t out run or just said screw you storm because we love it here and the fish might bite when you are over if we live. We are very scared of all your lightening and wind but we are staying anyway. We have spent so many hot, cold, and somewhere in between days far away from anyone in the back of some slough just she, me and all of natures beauty.
It has been a romantic, sometimes dangerous, sometimes frightening, many times peaceful relationship we have had through the years. We do not go out on as many adventures as we used to because life tends to interfere but she waits patiently for me always in her special spot in the carport. As she sits there waiting I notice she does not shine quite the way she did in her youth. But, she still looks pretty **** good. And, she is always ready to go.
