Does anyone want my 10 chickens? I'll buy them all first class tickets on a Delta flight to anywhere in the world and even fork out the money for a limo to drive them to your house. They are so completely fired! I have 3 cockerels in the batch that crow at EVERYTHING, including hummingbirds that accidentally bonk me in the head, but not one of them even blucked to alert me to the presence of the world's biggest black bear stepping out from behind the coop while I was sitting in a lawn chair RIGHT BESIDE IT! 🤬🤬🤬

They expected you to take it for the team.

The bear didn't seem interested in them. Like I do every day, though, as a good chicken mommy, I stepped up to stand between the threat and my chickens. Just like this morning with the large grey fox. Just like I did before to other foxes and even a large doe. And the first time I had to do it in my stocking feet and nightie when a coyote tried to get to them. But those other times they had all warned me of danger! This time? When the threat was serious and I could have been killed? Nope. Not a peep.

Maybe that's their revenge for my stealing their first butt nugget this afternoon. 😒

I always stand between them and any threats... Well, real threats. They see my neighbor as a threat, and random hummingbirds, but I ain't stepping up to face an imaginary threat. 🤷🏻‍♀️
