I live with a circus. They're giving me the house, so there's no way I'm leaving and letting it fall apart. I've been fixing it up nice, and won't see my investment turn to rubbish.

The two don't match

It's been rundown since they bought it. I've put many thousands of dollars into fixing it up for them, but then they told me they're giving me the house, with stipulations. So I consider it an investment. I don't want the house, but I'll take it to ensure that my family always has a place to go, even though it means that I'll have to deal with a lot of things that I'd much rather do without.

Yes! And buttloads of money that by now I could have saved and bought myself a different house, or used to travel. But that's the definition of 'filial piety'.

My mom and dad will be doing whatever they said, and adding my name to the title. Everyone in the family agrees that I should have it as I will use it wisely. I will never allow family to be out on the streets, I'm anal about paying bills on time, every time, and I'm the one who takes care of the house and property already. But if someone else in the family really wants it, they can have it and I'll vacate right quick and jump on the first plane out.
