I grew up with flight line access to a Marine base when I was a kid (pre 9/11). I was out there watching ops as often as I could con my folks into taking me out. Planes and flying are in my blood. I still have warbird posters on the wall in my garage. This one hits close to home with me. I haven't seen her in years, but I'm still upset about her loss, and the loss of both crews.

Yeah, prolly weird, but no one's ever accused me of being normal.
Unbelieveable. I was very familiar with both of those aircraft. I traveled with the CAF in the '80's all over the US and Mexico doing Airshows. I've sat on the Pyro field and counted 60 engines turning. I have seen a lot of crashes but that was by far the worst.

I grew up living very close to Cleveland Hopkins airport. So close, my house was one of the ones "sold" to the airport so it could expand. Never did expand. Anyways, we used to go to the airport and watch the airplanes taking off and landing. I know they are commercial so different than military, but it is still a fun memory

She won't stop licking it. She hasn't been in it too much, just when she's in her crate.
Poor baby.
Sounds like it's time to have chinese food.

I'm about 6 miles from Falcon Field in Mesa,. where the AZ wing is stationed. I love going over and just killing time, and Sentimental Journey's in the air over my house all the time in good weather. I still haven't managed to take a hop yet though, which is chocking. Always seems to be something in the way.

Some day.
